Taking extra thiamine is necessary for most people using DCA.
DCA uses up your bodies natural supply of thiamine. This can result in symptoms of thiamine deficiency such as numbness or tingling in the fingers and toes.
Taking 750 mg of thiamine a day prevents this (this is 2 of our capsules).
Note that thiamine pills that you buy at the health store or pharmacy will only have 200 mg of thiamine in them.

One of our vegetarian thiamine capsules per day may make you much less likely to get bit by mosquitos during bug season.
Thiamine is water soluable so you can not overdose on it. Also, because it is water soluable, it does not last long in your system. Hence the need to take one capsule per day for mosquito bite prevention.

Bug Spray From Your Local Retail Store
Many commercial bug sprays or mosquito repellents contain permethrin. Permethrin is classed as carcinogenic (cancer causing) by the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). It is known to cause liver tumors, lung tumors, and immune system disorders. You definitely do NOT want any products that contain permethrin.

All Natural Bug Spray
There are many all natural mosquito repellents on the market. How well they work vary a lot. The biggest criticism of all natural bug spray is that it does not last very long. You usually have to re-apply all natural bug spray every 2 hours.
Some people make their own. However, testing is not very fun. You will get bitten a LOT testing out what repells mosquitos and what does not. Common ingredients for all natural mosquito repellent are:
Vanilla Oil (the real stuff)
Cinnamon Leaf Oil
Peppermint Oil (about 80% effective for only 1 hour. Feels great on the skin though)
There are many formulas on the internet for mixing up your own ‘secret sauce’ of bug spray. Taking a thiamine capsule daily during bug season is very easy to do. The thiamine capsule can be used at the same time as any of the above all natural bug sprays. Do both to ensure way less mosquito bites.
